O-Bite
What type of material is O-Bite?
O-Bite is the hardest VPS-based bite registration material on the market.
What is the shore hardness for O-Bite?
The shore hardness of O-Bite is 93.
What are the advantages of using O-Bite for a dentist?
O-Bite is the hardest VPS-based bite registration material on the market. Softer VPS materials flex or compress during articulation, thus enabling bite elevations and severe discomfort in the mandibular joint. Due to its high final hardness, O-Bite eliminates time-consuming grinding in and ensures a gnathologically perfect tooth relationship.
Why does O-Bite exhibit such break resistance despite its high final hardness?
The DMG-patented vinyl silicone matrix facilitates excellent break resistance. Equally long silicone chains ensure an extraordinarily stable linking structure which translates into a high level of security for the removal from the mouth, trimming and repositioning on the model.
What is the purpose of the fruity fresh orange scent?
According to a study conducted by the Vienna University Clinic for Neurology orange scent reduces the fear of dentists in women.
Why does O-Bite have no bite resistance?
Coarse fillers promote perfect occlusion. And fine fillers like in O-Bite ensure the correct bite position.
Which is the correct dispenser for O-Bite?
The standard 50 ml 1:1 dispenser. It is also well-suited for the 50 ml impression material cartridges Honigum-Heavy, Honigum-Mono and Honigum-Light.
How can excess O-Bite bite registration material be removed?
Immediately after removal from the mouth O-Bite can easily be trimmed with a scalpel. After storage the bite registration can be cut with a bur. For best result, cross-cut burs are recommended.
How can O-Bite bite registrations be disinfected?
With standard disinfectants for VPS materials.
What affects the curing of O-Bite?
Contact with polyether residue or condensation curing silicones can have a negative effect on O-Bite’s curing behavior.
LuxaBite
What material is LuxaBite?
LuxaBite is bisacrylate bite registration material and is the hardest of all bite registration materials on the market.
Which is the correct dispenser for LuxaBite?
The standard 50 ml 10:1 dispenser which is also suitable for Luxatemp and StatusBlue.
Why should LuxaBite be applied in segments?
Like all composites, LuxaBite exhibits low polymerization shrinkage which may lead to minor distortions with full dental arches.
Which layer thickness is recommended for LuxaBite?
Due to the material’s high final hardness and exothermic reaction, LuxaBite should be applied in segments and thin layers. Combined with its excellent stability this prevents penetration into undercuts.
What should be noted for undercuts?
LuxaBite should be applied sparingly. Due to the material’s extreme final hardness, penetration into undercuts should be prevented by blocking these areas out with wax.
Can LuxaBite be used with composite core build-ups or fresh composite fillings?
Especially fresh composite materials bond easily. Therefore, existing composite build-ups should be isolated with Vaseline or a similar separating agent.
How can the oxygen inhibited layer be removed when using LuxaBite?
The smear layer can easily be removed with ethanol (e. g. wipe with a disinfectant tissue).
How is excess LuxaBite material is be removed?
LuxaBite should be trimmed with a bur.
What affects the curing of LuxaBite?
Contact with retraction solution residue can have a negative effect on LuxaBite’s curing behavior. It should therefore be thoroughly removed with water spray and dried before taking a bite registration.
